The Igualada General Plan has been unanimously awarded the VII Catalonia Prize of Urbanism 2011 by the Catalan Society of Town Planning (subsidiary of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans). The jury details that the Igualada General Plan deserves this award "Because of its conceptual interest, the force of its methodological structure and the comprehensive interpretation of the territory. In its development the plan has followed the public participation processes and the interdisciplinarity of the team".
